Marcus began creating tracks with early roland equipment in 1989, alongside long term
friend Neil Kiely, as 'microdot'. He was heavily influenced by the early works of 808state,
the sheffield bleep scene, and the more experimental rave tracks from the early 90's.
Throughout the 90's, more tracks were made, still using analogue gear, and sampling on the
amiga and the akai s950. Marcus was a DJ at the legendary 'Shining Path' club nights held in
Dumfries in 1996/1997, playing lots of early acid / peacefrog /mosquito 12"s.
After several years of non-productivity, Marcus took a fresh approach to music production,
helped with the aid of new equipment and easier ways of recording. In 2003, Alex Cortex
picked up on a few of these tracks, which he released on his 'PATHMUSICK' net label. Having
made his debut live show at Esoteric, London in may '05, using a gameboy, he has also
played at Monox, Glasgow, in march '06 alongside the Horrorist and Manasyt. Most recent
live sets were commisioned by the Dumfries Arts Festival.
2007 has been a very fruitful year for Marcus, with several releases forthcoming on labels
ROTTENROW, CHAN'N'MIKES, and a co-produced track with Dan Monox on FEINWERK, as
well as co-launching the POOKIES CHOCOLATE NOSE imprint.
