Greg Mungin

Born Lee Harvey Adolf Goldstein III in 1977, better known by his stage name Greg Mungin, is a DJ, Producer, Guitarist, Writer, Businessman and Fortune-Teller. A precocious actor in his youth (he played the 'Innkeeper' in "The Nativity") Mungin became known for several groundbreaking roles in 80's television including Scunner Campbell's nephew in "Supergran", a carol singer in "Scotch 'n' Wry" and 'Glue sniffing youth no.3' in "Stookie".

It was while redefining TV History that Mungin first encountered acid house, attending some of the legendary underground staff raves held under the STV studios in Cowcaddens, dubbed "Glen Michael's Cavern Raves" by clubbers. A freak hand-injury to resident DJ Paul Coia gave Mungin his first break behind the wheels of steel, despite only owning 2 records (Scotland World Cup Squad - "We Have A Dream" and Hue & Cry - "Labour Of Love") Mungin was a big hit and could see his future mapped out in front of his sparkling blue-eyes. However a 2 year spell in Polmont Young Offenders Institution curtailed his early rise to stardom but a chance meeting sharing a cell with Slam's Orde Meikle, put him back on the track to musical stardom. After earning his props on the Underground Irish scene (as DJ Armalite),

Mungin began conquering Glasgow's dormant Techno scene in the late 90's and had his first club hit with his 'Jackin Acid Phunk' remix of Bewitched's "C'Est La Vie" but an unfortunate incident involving a frozen chicken landed him back in trouble with the law. It was to be another lucky break for the star as he done with community service with popular light-entertainer and jelly-heid Marti Pellow. Mungin produced Pellow's triumphant comeback single "It Wisnae Me" and subsequent album "Return of the Smack". Now much in demand, Mungin worked with artists as diverse as Dizzee Rascal and Dean Park all the while producing his own crossover smash's like "Do The Mung" and his awesome cover of "Oh ye cannae fling pieces oot a twenty story flat".

Mungin still found time to build his electronic legacy in Glasgow, playing for many grateful local club nights and eventually hosting his own successful events such as Mungfest '05. Despite the fact he would definitely be the biggest DJ in the world if he could be arsed, Mungin still finds time (between missionary work) to play for the uneducated crowd's of Scotland's club scene and is currently working on projects such as his first musical, a Channel 4 feature film and his long-awaited memoirs.
