Dave Shades
Dave Shades started DJing at the tender age of 16, spinning hip-hop and dabbling in hardcore, moving on to techno around 2000/2001.
Since moving to Glasgow in 2001 he has warmed up for the likes of Robert Hood, Space DJz, Slam and has closed for A Guy Called Gerald, Manu Kenton and Mark Broom.
A former resident of Concept Theory, Obese and Animal Farm, he also played several of the Footwork nights and also the Subcity nights at the Arches.
Up until recently, Dave had been running and DJing at Mount Heart Attack. He brought up acts like Jerome Hill, Subhead, Ben Pest & 3d!t, Mustard Gunn, Spandex and The Squire of Gothos.
He has now joined forces with Tommy & McGarvatron (Bass Invaders) and Data Rape (Obese) for a new bi-monthly night, Banjax.
Dave mainly plays wonky and jacking techno, with splatterings of booty, electro, acid, dubstep and bassline , however he has been known to dabble in pretty much anything including disco, hip-hop and even breakcore.
In 2007, he was crowned the winner of the Dickride DJ Battle World Cup, an online booty battle and these days he is on the Bleep Radio roster at fun-in-the-murky.com as well as being part of local aural assualt squad Pest Control.
